The TELEGRAM newspaper is FREE and available on Thursdays at newsstands, retailers, gas stations, community centers and city halls throughout the cities of Delray, Detroit, Ecorse, Inkster, Lincoln Park, Melvindale, River Rouge, Romulus, Taylor and Wyandotte and several surrounding cities.
History of the Telegram
The Telegram Newspaper was founded in1944 and has been in continuous publication since that time. The late J. C. Wall, who passed away in July 1997, published it for over 50 years. Following J. C. Wall’s death, the Telegram continued to live on through the efforts of Mr. Ben Wade.
In June 2006, the Telegram was purchased by Gina C. Wilson and has experienced exponential growth. The Telegram is distributed on newsstands throughout Detroit and ten of the Downriver Communities. Other loyal readers of the Telegram receive their newspaper via the mail in such states as California, Maryland, Florida and numerous cities in between.
The Mission of the Telegram is to:
Educate and inform the residents of Southeastern Michigan about issues going on in the communities, state, country and the world while simultaneously empowering them to do their part in ensuring their families are good corporate citizens. Provide businesses (large and small) an avenue to reach these citizens.Provide resources that the readers can implement or partake in.
The staff at the Telegram is committed to providing excellent customer service for reporting the news and determining personalized advertising campaigns for the businesses in the area.The leadership of the Telegram develops partnerships with local schools, businesses, non-profit organizations and city governments to provide an avenue for growth, employment and an enhanced business outlook.The Telegram appreciates its readers.
