LANSING - State Rep. Tyrone Carter (D-Detroit) was sworn in officially today as representative for the 6th House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan's 100th Legislature. In response, Rep. Carter issued the following statement:

"For too long, Michiganders have had to face rising auto insurance rates based on factors that have nothing to do with driving. I look forward to representing the people of the 6th District and putting an end to the real culprit behind our high insurance costs, as well as the many other issues impacting the people of my community every day. It's time to roll up our sleeves and get to work."
