Jim Crow Museum Bus Tour

Join Black Scroll Network History & Tours as we EXPLORE the Jim Crow Museum in Big Rapids, MI on the campus of Ferris State University. Along with that, we will also investigate a few Black historic sites in Detroit.

The Jim Crow Museum contains thousands of historic artifacts depicting racist portrayals of Black people. These artifacts and exhibits are used to teach about the history of racism and the pervasiveness of white supremacy in American society.

Please join historian, educator & Tour Leader, Jamon Jordan, as we take our Annual Study Tour to the Jim Crow Museum.

We will meet at the parking lot of Meijer's on 8 Mile and leave Detroit by luxury charter bus (for a large group) or by van (for a small group) at 7:30am. We will be on the road for 3-4 hours on our charter bus/van learning about Michigan Black history as we ride. When we arrive at the Jim Crow Museum, you will have a POWERFUL experience that involves history AND the present state of society. You do not want to MISS THIS!

The Black Scroll Network, History & Tours, L.L.C., came into being in 2013. After years of leading tours for free, the founder of the company saw the need for people to have a personal experience with the history of African Americans and Black people throughout the Diaspora. This is especially true in Detroit, MI, where the company was founded and is based. This city, which is about 85% African American, has a rich history, from enslaved Africans and Indigenous People to being a major station on the Underground Railroad which Black people used to escape enslavement, to a Black economic and residential center, known as Black Bottom & Paradise Valley to numerous events, leaders and figures in history.

We offer tours in Detroit, other places in Michigan, and even historical sites throughout the United States. Please contact Jamon Jordan at 313-983-9216 or email him at [email protected] to schedule a tour.
