Parents, are your children saved?

Have they confessed their sin and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior? Life here on earth ends and most times without notice. Just because you are saved does not automatically make them saved. Your job from Jesus Christ is to number one, expose them to him at home by being a living witness in front of them in actions and speech. Live the word in front of them. Before and after they accept Christ as Savior take them to church, Sunday School, Bible Class, and have regular home Bible studies & devotions (Deuteronomy 6:4 “Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. 5 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. 6 And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7 Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8 Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9 Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates).

Remember our children don't go to heaven because we want them to go but because they accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. John 14:1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.

Parents here the word of the Lord Jesus Christ through the pen of the Apostle Paul, Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. 2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.” 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

In closing parents, Jesus has asked you to do this for Him and the children he has given you and that is why he gave them to you or put those children in your care. Jesus is trusting you to raise them to follow Him.

Will you do that for Christ who did not hesitate to give His life up for us so that we could be saved? How can you be comfortable in your salvation and not even know if your children are saved? The saddest face I have ever seen is the face of a parent at what should have been a child's or teens or young adults' home-going celebration but instead, it was a funeral. Love Jesus and your children enough to lead them to Christ.

With all the love of the Lord Jesus Christ,

Pastor O.
