GARDEN CITY'S MAY 5TH ELECTION WILL BE ALL ABSENTEE/MAIL

The May 5th Garden City Schools Bond Millage Election is Absentee/Mail Only.

In accordance with Governor Whitmer's Executive Order #2020-27, the Tuesday, May 5, 2020 Garden City Public Schools Election will be conducted only by mail.

An application for a ballot has been sent to your home, by the State of Michigan, if you are a registered voter. If you would like to vote in the election, return the postage paid application and a ballot will be prepared and sent to your home. Fill out the ballot, sign the inner envelope and return the postage paid envelope to the City Clerk and your vote will be counted!! All postage is paid under this Executive Order.

MANY RESIDENTS HAVE NOT RECEIVE THEIR ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATION

If you have not gotten an application to vote in the mail from the State of Michigan for the May 5, 2020 Garden City Public Schools Special Election, go to https://mi-gardencity.civicplus.com .follow the link to use the application and submit to the City Clerk's Office as soon as possible.

Fill out this application, please include your name and address and sign the application. Return the application in the purple dropbox at City Hall .

These applications are also available at the Police Station for pick-up. Simply fill out the application and place in the dropbox. As soon as we receive the application, a ballot will be sent to your home. All ballots must be returned to City Hall by 8:00 p.m. on May 5, 2020-Election Day.

LOCAL SCHOOL ELECTION

The Garden City Public Schools called for this election and under the direction of the State of Michigan, the City Clerk's Office is working to meet the needs of voters as best as possible.

BY ORDER OF THE STATE-

EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO VOTE IN THE MAY 5 ELECTION MUST FILL OUT AN ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATION. PERMANENT ABSENTEE VOTERS WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT.

Fill out only one application and submit to the Clerk's Office.

OTHER

City Hall will be open to the public on Election Day as a consolidated precinct for voters that need assistance with their ballot or would like to vote in person.

City Hall will be open to the public from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 for voting purposes.

Additionally, City Hall will be open to the public from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2020 for the purposes of processing absent voter applications and ballots.
