Detroit and Ecorse come together to help feed the community

Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones lends a helping hand

Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones was on hand during the weekly food distribution in Ecorse

The International Gospel Center (IGC) and its special guest the Honorable Brenda Jones distributed 1,700 food boxes to families from the community on Friday, June 12, 2020 at International Gospel Center (IGC). IGC will continue to distribute 1,700 food boxes every Friday from 9 am to 1 pm until November 27, 2020. The curbside food distribution will ensure social distancing is maintained. IGC is located at 375 Salliotte in Ecorse 48229.

To ensure social distancing, food boxes will be placed in the trunk or backseat of the recipient's car. Recipients must stay in their vehicles with doors unlocked. IGC staff will distribute the food one box at a time. Each vehicle will receive a food box based on family size. Only families who come to the site can receive a food box. A family member CANNOT take food for other family members that are not present. Walk ups are welcomed.

Pastor Marvin N. Miles and parishioners of the International Gospel Center and special guest the Honorable Brenda Jones were excited to help feed the community.
