INKSTER - On Saturday, August 15th, the citizens of Inkster were blessed with Free Gas. Through a partnership with Christ Temple City of Refuge (CTCOR), Mike Bazzi - owner of the Citgo Gas Station located at 26167 Michigan Ave. and Inkster Mayor Patric Wimberley, each car received $15.00 in gas.

The Gas Giveaway was the idea of Pastor Mack Hall, Jr. who saw a need and wanted to be a blessing to the community. "People are headed back to school and work and they all will need gas to get there." That is when Operation Refuge, the outreach arm of CTCOR went to work. They worked with Mike Bazzi and Mayor Wimberley to come up with the Gas Giveaway.

The response was wonderful; they served 150 cars with $15.00 worth of gas. Mike was more of a blessing when he provided the gas to the community at his cost of $1.89 per gallon. He also gave away hotdogs and ice cream to the people. Inkster resident, Savannah Johnson said, "I thank Pastor Hall and the Christ Temple City of Refuge church congregation for their service to the City of Inkster"

Members of Operation Refuge took advantage of the long lines of cars waiting for gas to remind people about completing their 2020 Census and distributed Census information and bags. Pastor Jean Overman, Outreach Director of CTCOR said, 'This was a great morning for all. They received gas and information about their responsibility to give ten minutes of their time to Complete the Census."

A little advertising didn't hurt to bring people to the gas station

Pastor Mack Hall Jr. said "C.T.C.O.R. is an example of what the heart of Faith looks like in any community. We take pride in our assignment in Inkster. We are in the Heart of the City with the City in our Heart.

Christ Temple City of Refuge and Operation Refuge - the outreach arm of the ministry has served in the City of Inkster since 2000. Residents benefit in several ways from their services. Whether its food from Mother's Pantry, educational experience with Camp Inspire, their L.I.T. leadership program, youth employment or scholarships (over 40k to date) they believe the power of God must be demonstrated through the hands and heart of the ministry.
