Creating Community During COVID-19!

Watch Me Be Great

September 10, 2020

As we opened our doors for the first week of school, we successfully implemented our reentry plan to educate students during these uncertain times. Teachers and support staff returned to the buildings following strict safety protocols. We have no confirmed cases of COVID-19 and we are just happy to be back on familiar grounds. We miss interacting with our students in the buildings and our drop-in centers will be operational beginning September 21, 2020. More information is forthcoming as to how you can register to come into the limited space and have your child receive in person academic and/or well-being support. Your school has been sending out that information and the transportation routes will be posted on the website beginning next week. Please remember there is limited space for now because we are still following recommendations from Governor Whitmer's office.

As previously stated, we respect the virus and are definitely following recommendations to help us navigate the potential dangers. Even as we are committed to keeping everyone safe, we understand the need to create a sense of community during the COVID. Sports and entertainment are things that bring people together. We are pleased to announce that high school football is set to begin at Panther Stadium against our oldest rivals, the Ecorse Raiders. The Mighty Panthers were 2019 Division State Champions and we look forward to defending our crown. There will only be 6 regular season games and then the playoffs. Regardless, we plan on ending this season like we did last year, with a championship.

Everyone loves a good movie and so do we! Consider this your formal invitation to spend some time with us and our outdoor/drive-in movie nights. Each week the movie will be hosted at a different school. This will allow us all to see familiar faces in an environment that is also safe. Finally, all home varsity football games will be at each school. Please bring your own chairs or you can remain in your cars and listen to the game on your car radio. We understand how difficult this has been on everybody; however, we are a district that offers solutions to help make people feel a part of our community. We look forward to seeing you at all of our upcoming events.
