When Art Van furniture stores closed across the region earlier this year, putting thousands out of work, all hope seemed lost. But into that vacancy stepped Loves Furniture and Mattresses, a furniture chain owned by Dallas-based U.S. Assets. Loves Furniture acquired 18 former Art Van locations in Michigan and will be hiring roughly 1,000 employees to run those stores. Available positions include sales and store operations, which will encompass housekeeping, porters, hostess and clerical positions.
