LANSING. - Sen. Stephanie Chang (D-Detroit) and Rep. Ranjeev Puri (D-Canton) today offered a resolution in the Michigan Senate and House, respectively, condemning the rise in hate crimes against Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) and encouraging Michiganders to report hate crimes and discrimination.
Senate Resolution 30 and House Resolution 61 come in response to an increase in hate crimes, hateful rhetoric, and hate incidents during the COVID-19 pandemic, and were adopted in both chambers.
