He played for Coach Lance's Championship Jr. Panthers football team, Coach Slack's Championship Jets little-league baseball team and was an original member of Coach Hick's Championship Pistons basketball team before moving to Tempe, AZ. He was exposed to golf through Ms. Johnson's Hollywood Golf Academy. He went on to play golf for McClintock High School, where he qualified for State Championships both his junior and senior year. He was voted 4x MVP of the Men's Varsity Golf Team while playing the flute in the Honors Wind Ensemble, working part-time at Ken McDonald Golf Course, and maintaining a 4.0 GPA all throughout high school. He recently graduated May 20th, 2021.

He is a member of the Junior Golf Association of Arizona, the American Junior Golf Association, and the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame "Desert Machies". Jerris has participated in Cameron Champs Inaugural Jr. Mac Champ Invitational in Houston, TX. In his first APGA Tour event at TPC Las Vegas, he won low amateur honors. Furthermore, in the second APGA Tour event at TPC Scottsdale, he tied low amateur honors. He was invited to the Scottish Jr. Invitational in Edinburgh, Scotland. Unfortunately, because of COVID-19 he will be playing in Scotland next year. Jerris looks forward to going to the home of golf.

Signing Day for Jerris is special as he now has a scholarship to play golf at Miles College in Alabama

Recently, he has received and accepted a Presidential scholarship to the HBCU Miles College in Birmingham, AL. There, he will be a member of the Golden Bears Golf Team on August 2nd, 2021. Oh by the way did we mention he turned 17 on the 17th of November 2020!
