Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib

Dear Neighbor,

I'm writing to remind you that time is running out to apply for FEMA disaster relief for the floods that ravaged our communities. The deadline is Monday, Sept. 13, 2021-less than three weeks away! Over $43 million in assistance has already been approved!

Wayne County residents and business owners who sustained losses in the designated counties should apply for assistance by registering online at http://www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA(3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice.

FEMA has setup disaster centers in 13th District Strong to assist you and your family. Here are their hours and locations:

Hamtramck City Hall at 3401 Evaline Street Hamtramck, MI 4821 has been designated as a FEMA document drop-off location as well!

FEMA's Individual Assistance Program provides help to eligible individuals and households affected by a federally declared disaster. The IA program assists those who have uninsured or under-insured necessary expenses and serious needs. The assistance is meant to return a home to a safe, sanitary and functional residence. Please note, federal assistance cannot duplicate the benefits provided by other sources, such as insurance, and cannot pay for all losses caused by a disaster. Individuals should register with FEMA to determine whether they are eligible for assistance.
