February 3, 2022

Mother White is special to the community. Praise God for allowing her to reach 100.

Hattie Cross White was born on February 23, 1922, in Eutaw Alabama. She relocated to River Rouge at the age of 13 and attended school in the River Rouge School System. On June 22, 1946, she married Albert James White and they were married 52 years he died in 1998. She's a mother of seven children. She has lived in Southwest Detroit Community for 85 years and is truly a Matriarch in the village. In 1967, Hattie and her husband Albert, started a community church, Love Joy Missionary Baptist Church. That was 55 years ago and today she is still a functioning pillar of the church. Mother White is the face people look for when they come to Love Joy and to the neighborhood.

Mother Hattie White is a Light for Jesus Christ. When you come into her presence, you see, feel and smell the presence of a Loving Spirit. Mother White is known as a stylist looking Mother with class. She is truly respected by all who meets her. Her daughter and son-In-law lives with her; she gets up daily to take care of herself. She has the ability of her hearing, vision, thinking, walking, dancing and cooking. She doesn't have any serious health problems. She is in better health than people younger and older than her. Most of all she reads her Bible to stay closer to her Heavenly Father.

She has seventeen grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren. Her loving husband died in 1998. Four of her children are also deceased.

Mother White is an inspiring beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend. To know her is to Love her.
