The officers also recovered critical evidence which led to additional federal firearms charges in the Eastern District of Michigan.

River Rouge Deputy Police Chief Dasumo Mitchell stated, "It is an honor for our officers, this department and the city to receive this recognition from the FBI. It's not every day that officers are rewarded for the good work that they do. Our officers went above and beyond the call of duty to capture a dangerous fugitive. They're not looking for any accolades, but sometimes it's nice to receive an attaboy. They wondered what the big fuss was for and have said "This is what we do every day."

Ecorse Deputy Police Chief Jerry Flowers said, " This was teamwork at its best as the two police department worked together to apprehend a dangerous criminal. We didn't want him in our community. This was good police work as the criminal was taken down without incidence.. We have officers that love what they do; they come to work everyday with the desire to keep our City and the residents safe. "
