Garza Bill to Combat Drug Trafficking Signed Into Law

 

State Reps. Alex Garza (D-Taylor) and Graham Filler (R-DeWitt) stand with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and members of law enforcement after Public Acts 86 and 87 were signed into law.

LANSING- Today, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed House Bills 4631 and 4632, now Public Acts 86 and 87 of 2022, into law. The bipartisan package will help Michigan crack down on major drug trafficking coming through Michigan airports. After the bill signing, state Rep. Alex Garza (D-Taylor), sponsor of HB 4632, issued the following statement:

"Michigan is a safer place to live today thanks to Gov. Whitmer signing my bill. Drug traffickers will now think twice before trying to profit off the lives of our residents. I am happy this legislation has now become law."
