Garden City Fire and Police Departments Host Open House

The Garden City Fire Department's Open House allowed members of the community to get up close with a real fire truck.
On Saturday, October 8, both the Garden City Fire and Police Departments hosted a joint Open House event to welcome residents in to meet firefighters and police officers and get a peek at each department's operations.
Both departments had an array of vehicles on display for youngsters to explore. Police officers provided a variety of displays and demonstrations including the department's drone, which is useful for surveilling large-scale events or searching for a suspect or missing person. The department's K-9 "officer" Blue and his handler, Officer Stanley were on hand to greet guests...
