Wayne County Hosts Its Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive

DETROIT, MI – Wayne County is hosting its annual Turkey Giveaway. This year, the event will be held at Burning Bush International Ministries located at 30355 Annapolis Rd, Westland, MI 48186 on Saturday, November 19th from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Turkeys will be provided on the first come, first served basis, and will be limited to one turkey per car. Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans has hosted the event since 2015 and continues the holiday tradition helping to fill the gap for families in need.

"This year, like years prior, we're providing turkeys to needy families to help lessen the load while bringing families together over the dinner table," said Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans. "We know many families have experienced a difficult time financially from the fallouts of Covid and inflation. This is our way of giving back to our 43 communities and ensuring every family can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. I encourage Wayne County residents to come out and grab a turkey in preparation for the holiday."

Turkey Drive sponsors include Burning Bush International Ministries, Kroger Delivery, the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights, and DTE.
