It's Election Time

November 2, 2023

Several cities in Wayne County will have a General Election on Tuesday, November 7th . I know it is not the Presidential election, but it is important that you exercise your right to vote.

It is time to use these last few days to learn as much as you can about the candidates who are running to represent you. They are not vying for the position of President of United States. The positions that they are trying to hold has more of an effect on your daily lives than the presidency. The positions are Mayors/Supervisors, City Council persons/trustees, Clerks, Treasures and Judges.

I always encourage people to attend City Council meeting, but when there is an election, this is the optimal time to stop by. Learn what is going on and how your vote will make a difference.

Once you turn 18 years old, you have the right to vote. The General Election is less than a week away. Make sure you have what you need to vote. Stop by your local city clerk's office to register and ask any questions you may have.

To see your ballot visit your clerk office or go to http://www.mvic.sos.state.mi.us. The people that are on this year's ballot for cities in Wayne County are listed on Page 2 and onto Page 10.

You have the option to vote using an Absentee Ballot until the day of the election. Stop by your City Clerk's office for more information. Using an Absentee Ballot allows you the opportunity fill out the ballot from the comfort of your home and then drop it off in a drop box in your city or take it to the clerk's office. Do what is comfortable for you. But whatever you decide, just remember to vote.

Don't miss out on your opportunity to use your voice.
