It's Election Season, Get to know the Candidates by Reading

March is Reading Month. It's time to Read about the Candidates Runing for Election this year

Over the next six months, everyone who is at least 18 years of age will have a chance to use their voice. It's Election season in Michigan. The Primary election will be held in August. However with Early Voting and No Reason Absentee Voting, you can actually cast your vote as early as in the month of June. That is only four months away. During this time period I hope that Democracy will win.

As March kicks off Reading Month it is time to start reading about the candidates that will be vying for your support and your vote. You have time. Read the information that is coming to your home. Have your children read the information to you. This can be an added activity for the family. Learn about them and write them a letter if you have any questions. I'm sure they would love to receive some mail from you. Or if their email is available, send them a quick email with your question. Let's see if they take the time to reach out back to you and your family.

Everyone has a vote, so use your vote wisely. Take this time to Read, Read, Read. Democracy starts with an educated voter.
