Allen Park

The Downtown Allen Park Farmers and Makers Market is in full swing through October 25 at the corner of Park and Harrison Avenues. The Market runs each Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. and features fresh produce, plants, herbs, baked goods, and handcrafted items.

The Allen Park City Council will meet on Tuesday, May 28 at 6 p .m. in Council Chamber at Allen Park City Hall located at 15915 Southfield Road.


The Ecorse City Council will meet Tuesday, May 28 beginning at 7:30 p.m. City Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers of the Albert B. Buday Civic Center, located at 3869 W. Jefferson Ave.

Efficacious Global Ministries is hosting Focus: HOPE’s food distribution on the fourth Tuesday each month. The next distribution will be Tuesday, May 28 from noon to 3 p.m. Recipients must be age 60 and older and low income. To find out if you qualify to participate, [email protected] or text 248-993-2556. Delivery is available for those without transportation within a five mile radius. Efficacious Global Ministries is located at 4380 W. Jefferson.

Lincoln Park

The Lincoln Park City Council will meet on Tuesday, May 28 at 7:00 p.m. at the John A. Aloisi Council Chambers located on the second floor of Lincoln Park City Hall, 1355 Southfield. River Rouge

The Splash Pad will open Friday, May 24. Hours will be noon to 8 p.m.


Northwest Wayne Families Against Narcotics (FAN) will host a public forum on Monday, June 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the HYPE Recreation Center, located at 4635 Howe Road. Free Narcan Training will take place at 5:30. The forum topic will be Recover With a Clean Slate which will provide information from a legal expert on new rules in Michigan for expunging a person’s criminal record. There will be brief remarks, an opportunity to ask questions, and an opportunity to connect with others. The event is free and open to everyone.


The Westland Farmers and Artisans Market will open for the season on Thursday, May 23. The market will be open Thursdays through October 10 from 3 to 7 p.m. and is located at 1901 N. Carlson at the Farmers Market and Lions Club Pavilion.
