Cultivating Minds To Own Thyself

Google defines wealth as an abundance of valuable possessions or money. In my own terms, generational wealth is the act of taking said valuable possessions and passing it down through the bloodline. Ensuring security for yourself, your children, and their children's children.

Cultivating Minds To Own Thyself, puts a new lens on the phrase valuable assets. Cleveland award winning author, poet and public speaker, Jameel Davis doesn't describe wealth as a paycheck. But as a clean, healthy, and processing state of mind. A state of mind that builds character and wisdom. Creating a being that places knowledge of self before fast money.

Davis uses his enlightening style of writing to address the

destructive habits found equally in black men and women. Cultivating Minds To Owns Thyself then offers non judgemental solutions on owning your mistakes and using them to build an empire without being anchoring to the past.

Jameel wants his audience to take control of their own lives. At times it felt like less of a book, and more of a conversation with an older, careful educated brother. Talks of claiming a healthy identity, passing down a respectable name to your children, and dating are only the small points the poet brushes on.

The grind doesn't stop for the Jameel, he's a father and worker in county corrections. Many people look up to him, admire his character, and body of work. This Explains how he's had the chance to explore the country to spread his understanding of the game. Jameel is booked to the eyes with speaking engagements at

career days, book fairs, almost

Davis is currently working on a goal to to sign a book in every

state. Cultivating Minds To Own Thyself can be purchased on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. It's also the first book I've ever read into with a soundtrack.

Jones - What's your mission?

Jameel Davis - For my readers and myself to overcome life's inevitable obstacles. Feed in positive information, and completely wipe out the negative from our identities. To live

life with a detailed purpose. The environment I came from was rough, I want to go back and be the person I wish I had.

Jones - How does having your own son motivate you ?

Jameel Davis - My son gets to bear witness to all this first hand. He's the biggest reason I became an author. I didn't want him to hear my story from the another person.

Jones - What states have you signed books in so far?

Jameel Davis - California, Kentucky, Florida, Virginia,

Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Of course Michigan, and Canada.

Jones - Tips for independent authors?

Jameel Davis - Master the art of public speaking. Step out of

your comfort zone and take a chance, but don't pounce on every opportunity presented. Feel around for the right things and don't keep all your eggs in one basket. Networking is key.
