Western Wayne Family Health Center host Drive Through COVID-19 Testing in Inkster

Nurses are ready to test people in the communit

The Western Wayne Family Health Center is now doing COVID 19 testing with drive through access by appointment at our Inkster location. Anyone 12 and older can access testing by first making an appointment for a tele-medicine visit to get a test order from one of our providers.

The Inkster location is at 2700 Hamblin Rd, between Inkster Rd and Michigan Ave.

All appointments and questions from patients and potential patients should be directed to our main line at 313-561-5100

There are other resources that the Western Wayne Family Health Centers can offer any constituent who is looking for health care. We are open at our Inkster, Taylor and Lincoln Park locations-for adult medical care, pediatrics, OB, emergency dental care, behavioral health and opiate addiction treatment. They are taking new patients for all services.

Drive-up testing begins in Inkster at the Western Wayne Family Health Center

As much as possible, we are doing care by Tele-Medicine (we have a secure portal in our electronic medical record that allows for a video visit) or phone if a person does not have a smart phone. If people need in person care, we are using PPE, checking everyone's temp at the door, and are restricting access to patients (and a parent) into the building. So we are seeing newborns, giving kids immunizations, monitoring pregnant women and doing almost everything we did pre-pandemic. At this point, routine dental care is not offered as per the Executive Order. They can even do a tele-dental visit for infections and other things where the dentist just needs to take a look. We do take all Medicaid plans, most other insurance, and have a sliding fee scale based on income for those without insurance. Even in these difficult times, they want to make sure people are not neglecting their health and well-being.
