100 MEN CLUB SELECTS DREAM CENTERS TO RECEIVE $11,000 GIFT

January 28, 2021

DETROIT –100 Men Club, a group of local men committed to making a positive difference for metro Detroit families, donated more than $11,000 to DREAM CENTERS of Michigan, a Pontiac-based nonprofit dedicated to "Transforming communities one person at a time through collaboration with individuals and organizations who invest their time, talent and treasure". 100 Men Club voted during its December meeting, held virtually due to COVID-19 restrictions, to award its quarterly grant to DREAM CENTERS, with the aim of assisting the nonprofit's efforts to connect people to a community of support and resources equipping and empowering them toward their preferred future.

"I have been a supporter of DREAM CENTERS in Pontiac, MI for over six years, initially introduced through a volunteer team from Cisco Systems (my employer at that time). In those years, I have seen the DREAM CENTERS impact lives of many providing basic needs, life skills and housing to SE Michigan families" said 100 Men Club member Mike Killian, who nominated DREAM CENTERS for the gift. "Due to the many challenges faced today by these families many who were once donors are now recipients. NO ONE IS TURNED AWAY. This donation will ensure that no family is left behind in their time of need. On behalf of all the volunteers for DREAM CENTERS I would like to extend my extreme gratitude to the 100 Men Club for their generous donation".

Each quarter, 100 Men Club members donate $100 each to a charitable cause selected by membership vote. Candidates for receiving the donation are nominated by any member of the club and can include individuals, programs, nonprofits, community groups, businesses and more. Since 2017, 100 Men Club has donated more than $200,000 to 16 charities.

"Since its inception, 100 Men Club has had a substantial impact on our local community and the charities we support. A simple $100 donation quarterly per member is pooled together for a sizeable donation," said steering team member Brian O'Keefe. "Also, I love learning about all of the different charities that are helping people in our area. I had no idea there were this many amazing people right in our backyards creating organizations like Dream Centers."

DREAM CENTERS stated mission- "We connect people to a community of support and resources equipping and empowering them toward their preferred future."
