The Tragedy Continues: Jennifer Blackmon Still Missing, Children Separated

Series: MISSING BUT NOT FORGOTTEN | Story 2

Coming up on two years ago a travesty shook River Rouge and the Jackson family. The Christmas season was near and the Jackson/Blackmon family was excited to celebrate with one another and bring in the New Year. That was until the beloved mother of three, Jennifer Blackmon, disappeared.

Originally, her family wasn't worried because they figured Jennifer would return. They were very confident in the love that Jennifer had for her entire family, especially her children. The Jackson's also knew that Jennifer was a very suspicious person. They described her as extremely loving and friendly yet cautious and very weary of strangers. Jennifer always prioritized her and her children's safety, which is why her disappearance was so unexpected.

It's been over a year since and it hasn't been any less shocking. The news was hard for everyone but it hurt her children and father the worst. As a child Jennifer was a daddy's girl. She adored her father and they had a very close knit relationship. That is why her parents didn't hesitate for a second to assume responsibility for the children left behind. As of right now, the children are working toward their future, remaining focused on their education. Even though more time has passed, the pain is still as prevalent as the first day. The grandmother, Mrs. Mae Jackson says "since Jens disappearance it has been a constant emotional roller coaster. Sometimes we have good days but when they are bad, they're dreadful." Recently, things have taken a turn for the worse. Jennifer's youngest daughter has relocated to her father's residency due to a court ruling. The Jackson's wish to have her back home where she belongs.

Until then, the Jackson's take things a day at a time and try their hardest to keep hope alive. Mr. and Mrs. Jackson accredited their hope to their faith and the belief that Blackmon will return. In their hearts they know their daughter is alive and just want the ability to tell her that "we're awaiting her arrival with open arms and ready to work through any issue that may have caused her to run off."

The Jacksons understand that life is hard but without Jennifer it's nearly impossible. In their opinion the hardest part of this entire experience was having to answer their grandchildren's questioning regarding their mother. Nevertheless, the Jacksons are grateful that they have their grandchildren. They remind them of Jennifer and her generous and caring spirit.
