Eric Sabree Is Chosen as a Leader of Treasurers in Michigan

Detroit, MI–Wayne County Treasurer Eric R. Sabree has been elected to the position of 2nd Vice President of the Michigan Association of County Treasurers (MACT).

Sabree, who has served as Wayne County's treasurer since April 2016, was elected to the position at the organization's annual conference held in Midland during Aug. 6-9.

MACT promotes the education of its members, assists with the enactment of legislation, shares solutions to problems through networking, promotes and protects the interests of taxpayers and promotes consistency of operations of Treasurer's Offices in the state's 83 counties.

Sabree is also the chairman of the Wayne County Land Bank and a member of the Wayne County Election Commission.

As county treasurer, Sabree's priority has been to help people keep their homes. His office has successfully advocated for legislation to reduce interest rates on delinquent payments and heavily promoted the Michigan Homeowners Assistance Fund (MIHAF). More than 6,200 Wayne County property taxpayers have been able to avoid foreclosure through the help of MIHAF.
