Senate Democrats Deliver on First Big Fall Priority to Curb High Drug Costs, Protect Residents' Health

LANSING, Mich. (Oct. 04, 2023) - Today, the Michigan Senate passed Senate Bills 483-485. The bills, sponsored by Sens. Darrin Camilleri (D-Trenton), Kristen McDonald Rivet (D-Bay City) and Veronica Klinefelt (D-Eastpointe), will create an independent Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) in Michigan - as well as ensure medical service providers, insurance companies and Medicaid comply with the new legislation - to help lower prescription drug costs for all consumers.
