Please be on the lookout for a media alert next week with more details (regarding time and location).

The Carr Center Summer Art Academies were created to provide an intensive and challenging training opportunity for passionate and dedicated young artists. Students from throughout the region, with Detroit being prominently represented, have participated daily in two to four week intensives in dance, visual arts and jazz. The purpose of each intensive is to inspire, develop, challenge and educate students who have the passion and drive. The Summer Dance Intensive served students from every age group beginning at 8 years-old all the way up to one student who is 50+ years-old. "Everyday the students arrive for class ready and eager to learn and be better than they were the day before. In every case, they are achieving that personal goal! "said Oliver Ragsdale, Jr., Carr Center president.
