Michigan Comic Con 2018

Thanks to the Michigan Comic Con, downtown Detroit looked like the set of a superhero movie. Fans of animation and comic books gathered at Cobo Hall for a weekend of fun. Each day brought a new experience to the Motor City.

Comic books and cosplay served as the tip of the iceberg. Before or after entering the showroom. Fans had the option to visit a board game library, enjoy a lesson of medieval weaponry presented by the Detroit Fight Club, or visit a panel discussion from their favorite celebrities. Greats such as Nichelle Nichols, Billy West, Ray Park, and Kevin Conroy showed up to lend their energy.

The Michigan Comic Con dedicated itself not just to the art of collectables, media, and fellowship. But how to turn those hobbies into a business and career. Cosplay dos and don'ts, video game creation and filmmaking were just a few options available. Maybe next year some of participates could move on to panelist or exhibitors.

Fun was available for all walks of life. The MCC could have been a family event, a day for friends or even a hot date. I wouldn't consider you apart of this world if you showed up to Cobo and didn't find something that made you smile.

I am very grateful for the experience and hope to return next year for another great experi
