Independent Detroit Filmmaker Scores Major Film Distribution Noble Intentions

DETROIT--When Noble Intentions hits digital and cable video on demand (VOD) platforms early next year, it will be the first film produced out of Detroit to be greenlit for distribution by Gravitas Ventures. The worldwide film distributor connects filmmakers and producers with a global audience of more than a billion people. Over the course of 15 plus years in business, the company has collaborated with thousands of artists to share important films with global audiences.
Now, it's Detroit's turn.
Celebrated filmmaker, James C. Turner is a writer, director, and producer and owner of Turner Media Productions, LLC. His company has produced several film projects-including the critically acclaimed Highland Park 100 Year Documentary. The film was a visually stimulating look at the city known for putting the world on wheels.
Turner, who graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Production and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wayne State University, returned to his hometown of Highland Park, Michigan last year to shoot Noble Intentions.
Noble Intentions is gritty coming-of-age crime drama that explores need versus greed. When a teenage boy is faced with the fateful decision to help his mother with money to fight a medical battle, he finds out that street money does not come easy. Noble learns lessons, but also ultimately has to choose between saving his mother's life and saving his own.
Starring Emmy award winner, Obba Babatunde (S.W.A.T) as Pastor Stevens, Emmy Nominee, Aaron D. Spears (The Bold and Beautiful) as Mr. Green, actress Lori Hayes (Miss Juneteenth) as Katherine, and Michale Coffey as Noble. The film will mark the investment of Gravitas Ventures into the Hollywood of the Midwest. As an Award winning producer, Turner says that his goal "is not just to make movies, but to make movies with meaning."
Noble Intentions red carpet world premiere was Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at The Birmingham 8 Powered by Emagine.
The film was released nationwide on January 3, 2023, initially available on both digital and cable VOD platforms for rental and purchase. Pre-orders are available now on iTunes /Apple TV
