JAMES 'HIKEE' HIGHTOWER

JUN. 12, 1950 – NOV. 19, 2020

James was born in River Rouge and educated in the River Rouge School District. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Wayne State University. He served as a tutor and mentor for many students to encourage them to further their education. He worked as a Building Inspector and Constable for the City of River Rouge and was a Trustee for the River Rouge School Board. He was affectionately known as "Hikee" He was an advisor for many political leaders and motivational coach for student athletes.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Annie Lee Hightower, two sons, James Tolbert and James Brewer, two grand children, mother Dorothy Hightower, brothers Sheppard Sellers, Nate (Rachel) Hightower, Mack (Sonya) Hightower and Dave (Tanja) Hightower; sisters Mattie Turner, Mary Hightower and Frances (Robert) Cook and a host of family and friends.

Final arrangements were entrusted to Clora Funeral Home in River Rouge.
