In Loving Memory Of DENYSE ANDREWS

DENYSE ANDREWS

Denyse was born in Detroit and graduated from Cass Technical High School. At nineteen she was employed at Ford Motor Company. While there she attended Wayne State University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. Besides her initial degree, she held an Associate's Degree, a Masters Degree from Central University and a Bachelors Degree in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University.

Even though she joined Ford as a custodian, she was soon promoted to a clerical position. Her hard work and determination led her to advance in the finance department and managed 'millions' of dollars for Ford Motor Company. She retired in 2006 to pursue her passion and love for helping others.

In 1989, she met Terrence Andrews and together they became inseparable.

As a young woman, Denyse always had a desire to work in funeral service. Funeral service was not just a job for Denyse, it was her passion and calling. Denyse was a hard worker and worked side by side with her husband Terrance. They have successfully operated Andrews Funeral Home in excess of 30 years. They began with the Rosa Parks location in Detroit, and in 2015 expanded with a second location in River Rouge, Michigan.

Denyse, along with her parents were members of John Wesley AME Zion Church. She served as a pianist and a member of the community choir 'Operation Love'. She was a woman of great faith and her love for Christ was exemplified in her daily walk. In 1981, she joined Oak Grove AME Church and became an active member of the media ministry and the Richard and Sarah Allen Usher Board. She was presented the Oak Grove AME Church Living Legend Award on February 28, 2021.

She leaves to celebrate her life her loving and devoted husband, Terrance D. Andrews, sons, Mallory and Terrel; one grandson Andrew Denson, sisters; Liny Ann and Alfreida, godchildren, Alfreida and Bre'nae, two special people in her life, Charli and Everett and a host of other relatives and friends.
